Entries this day: Good_work_at_work Good_wtf_at_work Work_done a_rough_draft_fly2.nu_Rob_Update ami_doko colleen_wins! Good work at work 12:15pm JST Thursday 24 April 2008 (day 13910) Got this shizzle pretty much sizzled. I've got the survey page visually incorporated into the blosta themed CSS, but there's a bit of a hiccup for the user as they do the final submit for the survey, but still have to do the final final submit for the mission. It should be a single finish for the user, but I've got it split up because the surveys are in one DB (postgres), and the missions are in another (mySQL). One solution would be to automagically submit this form (with data filled in from their $_SESSION, but this is ripe for attack because it's just hidden forms in which they could insert any ol' data. SO, I need to more carefully link the final survey submit to the final mission DB write. But first, I gotta go send a number 2 message to the President. permalinkGood wtf at work 6:47pm JST Thursday 24 April 2008 (day 13910) I just got a call from my boss' boss, asking if they an wait until the end of the month to pay me. I'm supposed to pay Jason 12Λό tomorrow, and 4Λό for me-n-Ami's air tickets. Ami can split the 4 with me, but I still asked for 16 tomorrow and he said the rest can be paid at end of month. Muy interesante... permalinkWork done 9:05pm JST Thursday 24 April 2008 (day 13910) Called Ami and told her that work asked if they could pay me 5 days late. There's a law in Japan that says payment must be made on the same day each month (or something like that), but I certainl don't see myself wanting to invoke that.Ami's reaction was like, "welp time to start loooking for a new job." whereas I'm thinking about my friends there and how I got the job. I agree with Kim, I'm emotionally tied to it; he suggested a business is'nt likely emotionally tied to its workers. I'm curious to know if this is indicative of a trend or if it will be smoove sailing from here on. My contract is up in August, so I should proly start lookin' for a new job anyways. Hmmmmm. More IT? PB? Teaching? drop everything and roll to a new country? I'd be loathe to leave Ami. :-( Could I find high calibre private students? Hmmm. Might have to dust off my suit. Hmmmm. I think I'll write a Rob Update and try to get some more interest in fly2.nu. Perhaps do a bit of advertising for it. Perhaps try and automate domain creation.... with DH it would require a PS, which costs several more dolars than I have no, but peraps I could put together a proposal... but fly2.nu isn't really in line with helping people through healing. Is it in line with enjoying the world? A bit. permalinka rough draft fly2.nu Rob Update 1:21am JST Friday 25 April 2008 (day 13911) On the train ride home I wrote this, with the intention of sending a Rob Update tonight Hey everybody! I'm just writing to say HI! and to mention a couple of websites I got the idea after losing Francois back in February.. basically thinking if Francois had my information on him, then I'd be more likely to get him back! That idea morphed a few times until I got the perfect plan: Give each Put Let stuffed anmals travel wherever they like, and let whoever finds them write about them onthe animal's wiki! I bought isfuzzywilltravel.com so I could make domains like jacquesrabbit.isfuzzywilltravel.com AND SO I'm inviting people to find a stuffed animal that would like to travel with its own wiki! Some people on this list (HI Mom!) have never actually written on a wiki, so here's a great reason to learn how! Wikis are cool in that they basically let anyone with internet access make changes to the site! I've been working on uncle.cow.isfuzzywilltravel.com, and expect to send him on his own adventure after the summer! Hmmm maybe I'll post some flyers Have you seen me? Let your animals travel free with their very own wiki! _____.fly2.nupermalink ami doko 12:03am JST Friday 25 April 2008 (day 13911) Where is Ami? She called me at 11:30ish and said she was coming over (I thought)... but she also said she was drunk, and she said she was taking a taxi to my place from Motosumiyoshi. 1:45am JST I called Ami several several times, but no answer. Just called her again before I'm heading off to bed. Japan is "safe," so I'm not really worried about her, but I'm a bit concerned; I hope she is well. permalinkcolleen wins! 1:23am JST Friday 25 April 2008 (day 13911) Colleen is the first non-me to have a wiki on the fly2.nu network! permalinkprev day next day |
