Hahaha; they said that our company is faltering out of business, and they can pay me for the next 2 months, but no guarantees past that.

I was in Apple Store writing that which I plan o paste above when Ami called. I gave her the semi-bad new first: that they overpaid me last time and I might get less money next payday, and she was like, 'well you've got a lot this time, so y'ou're cool, right?" and I'm like, "yeah except that I can't really account for it," which is frikking me out a bit here; wtf did the money go?

Gonna bust out the bank books and shit to get this sorted. Ah damn my bank book is not up to date, but I'm pretty sure I know i've got about 2000 yen i there.

I think a big chunk went to Helma for my ISIS session, but I don't recall how much. I think 13,000.. then I paid rent 69,000 and I had bought the omputer which was either 100,000 or 120,000.

Dang.

So anyway, it's time to start paying attention to my money a bit better, and I feel fortunatel that the next set of meditation things are free (as far as I understand), and if they'r not, I might have to skip.

Gah.

anyway, Ami was surpirised when I couldn't account for the money 9as am I) but we didn't alk about it too much on the phone; I asked if she would come to my crib tonight, and she said after 10pm, i believe... or around 10pm.

I've got 20,000 yen saved in the house, and well, actually *I* have 10,000 yen, and we have an extra 10,000 together.

a bit went to my teeth, and a bit went to this shirt, and a bit went to food, oh, and the tix for the play were 6000 yen, but Ami paid me for hers, but then we went again for 1000 yen each.

I didn't even get to the bad (?) news of losing my ob in two months.

I wrote this at the Apple Store on the 19th, in my User:Rob space on Uncle Cow's website.

Today featured a meeting with my boss and his boss to say that the company seems to be going out of business, and they say they can pay me 2 more months, but after that it's 50/50, but I imagine it's more like I gotta get a new job pronto.

They said no problem to take some time off and go to interviews and such.

So now comes the game of figurin' out what I want to do next.

Let's brainstorm some options:

1. get a teachin job
   • work at a big school (Gaba, Berlitz)
   • work at PB for GET
   • get my own students
   • work in Shanghai (earthquake may have changed things, but job is all but guaranteed)
2. get an IT job
3. get a way different job:
   • massage
   • bartender (in an as yet unknown nonsmoking bar)
   • Apple Store
4. modeling
5. NHK
6. work for OM
7. big travel
   • SE Asia
   • Africa
   • India
8. make fly2.nu viable
9. get a sugarmommy / daddy
10. give up and go back to the US
11. move to an English speakin' country

Interesting stuff on this end!

I was supa happily busy during the weekend that I intended to write my monthly update and then hit the proverbial snooze on reminders until they all went quiet

New project is mine alone: http://u.cow.fly2.nu to promote a stuffed pillow cow that I bought. The website is a wiki, which allows anyone to upload images and write text about the images... The basic idea is that all the pictures will be of the cow and his travels around the world.

I'm close to having business cards made for the cow, and want to have postcard flyers made soon after that.

But that's not main thing on my brain..

Yesterday, at my full time IT job, we were informed that our company was likely to go our of business and they could pay us two more times (25 May and 25 June), but probably not past that.

I'm feeling sadness and fear around this. My plan is basically to start lookin' for other IT jobs, private students, maybe staff at Peace Boat.

A first step as I see it is put my current job on my resume.
