Entries this day: AM_headin'_to_Macau Karolina PM_headin'_to_Macau d'oh! out_all_night AM headin' to Macau 12:06pm JST Wednesday 18 June 2008 (day 13965) At breakfast with Natalia a bit ago: we split the melon that had been left by Suzuki-san, and she gave me some yogurt plus bread and olive oil, while I supplied zatar (given to me by Yuuka from PB) and we chatted about randomness. for some reason I can't find the shavin' part of Dan's green shaver; I take it off after each usage to let the inner part dry, but this time they didn't seem to stay near enough so that I could find them again. I was planning to shave my beard and hair before heading out, but looks like that will have to wait. Plans for Macau include doing the highest bunjee jump in the world. I hope I can do it barefootedly, but if barefoot won't do, then I bet flipflops won't either, so I'll need to bring some real shoes. I tried looking for the list of rules online, but didn't find it. I'm wearing the Kenyan shirt I bought from Gordon; I'll have to email pics to him. permalinkKarolina 4:54pm JST Wednesday 18 June 2008 (day 13965) Just met Karolina, a Polish woman who's doing her PhD in Germany on consumer habits of Japanese and Chinese. Her Master's was in Japanese, or maybe undergraduate; not too clear on that. She was photographed by a Japanese man, cause she's pretty hot. U-Cow got a picture with her too, just to um, document his trip (*). Her smile reminded me of Paige. (*) actually because she's pretty hot permalinkPM headin' to Macau 4:13pm JST Wednesday 18 June 2008 (day 13965) Everything smooth sailin' so far. I seem to have plenty of HK dollars (35,000 should be enough for 4 days I imagine. I just changed a bit under 40,000 yen, which would be plenty for 3 weeks in Tokyo, and I didn't think quite fast enough to tell Ami *not* to change any currency, but.. anyway, we'll be rich during this trip. My most expensive expenditure will be falling from the TALLEST BUNGY TOWER IN THE WORLD, which should clock in at about 2000 HKD. Might jump twice (if I don't relieve myself during freefall) just because it will be my only chance to do so for a while. Anyway, we're eatin' fast food, plenty of time until our flight requires our presence for boarding. Got a picture of U-Cow during checkin. Looking forward to a lovely trip with safe and happy arrival back home. permalinkd'oh! 12:46am JST Thursday 19 June 2008 (day 13966) I seem to have left our travel info magazine at the ticket counter where we got our ferry tickets. Gah. It had Mark's address, so instead of perfectly smoove sailin' straight to his crib; we'll have to get internet access first. Should be easy enough, right? Right? permalinkout all night 6:51am JST Thursday 19 June 2008 (day 13966) It's basically 6am in Macau; we've been up and out chillin', playing with Mark. Great fun at the most recent bar, preceded by a tour of MGM casino, preceded by chillin' at MP3 near his apartment, preceded by chowin' at a Thai restaurant also near his apartment, preceded by arriving at his apartment. It's sweet and huge compared to my crib in Tokyo! Hmmmmm... Great time but I'm so tired. permalinkprev day next day |
