Entries this day: Bike_missing Lesson_with_Komatsu got_my_computer_back work_late zzz_home_safely_with_TJ_Bike Bike missing 12:29am JST Tuesday 29 July 2008 (day 14006) As I left the house this morning, I noticed something missing. TJ Bike. WTF? where is TJ Bike? I wasn't super worried; it didn't seem likely that he had been swiped. I thought thought thought for a bit until I realized I had forgotten to get him last night when i came home ultimately from the Iyashi Fair at Big Site. Ah. Ami and I had parked our bikes near Hirama station on the way to big Sight [sic]. I'm just writing about it now because now is when I'm headed home to go home, but first gotta walk to go get TJ Bike. The last train to Hirama Station has already passed, but it's not that far of a walk. The train I'm on now is the last train to Kikuna. I think it leaves at 12:33. Speaking of 33, my battery now has 32% power, and is still kickin' it. Sweet! permalinkLesson with Komatsu 5:45pm JST Monday 28 July 2008 (day 14005) Though he thought the two hours went by in a flash, I was a bit harder pressed to share the same experience. Especially just repeating the same old story he had told me already, and which had very little likely use in his requested English-learnin' program. permalinkgot my computer back 5:32pm JST Monday 28 July 2008 (day 14005) Hello old computer! I missed your ability to help me easily write journal entries. At work, we've got functionality that will allow me to send emails from my cellie to my website, and parse out the text and image(s?) and post them on my journal. Sweet. The ironic thing is I had code like that before, like way back in the day, and I quit using it cause it was inherently insecure, just using security through obscurity. I don't know that this will be a whole lot better, but I can probably more easily check the emails headers and such to verify that the emails are being sent to my phone. Hmm, and I could even set up a reply code that's only sent to my phone and then that would pretty much guarantee only I could upload entries. But that's not why I'm writing. Today I realized it had been a while since I dropped off my computer, so I checked the paperwork... they had my old phone number. So after my crazy long lesson with Komatsu, I walked from Harajuku to Shibuya Apple Store and got my machine. I'm sittin' at their counter now, just with it on to see if it will power-off without my consent. So far it hasn't, but it's only been 6 minutes. I think it's lasted longer than the last time it was powering off before I brought it in here... ¤Þ¡¢ it's probably okay given that they replaced the battery, heatsink, mainboard and fan. Sweet. - - - - Hmmm; transaction finished, but continuing to chill here a bit so I can ask Sumiyo about the possibility of lessons: English in exchange for Mac Genius brains. 6:06pm JST Hahah.. she vanished right after finishing with her customer.. I guess she don't wanna talk to me. But the good news: my computer power management is working way better than it had been. It's been a long time since I've been on battery at only 37%. permalinkwork late 12:19am JST Tuesday 29 July 2008 (day 14006) Leaving work now. I went back to work after I-group, which I attended after getting a chicken sandwich from Wendy's, and a frosty. A vanilla frosty. I was like, "are these new??" He was like, "ummmm.." no? That was after getting my computer back. 12:35am JST On the way to the station, I got a lot of offers for back massages. It got a bit annoying, but in general I like to be approached by those smiling girls. At work I was getting a bit bogged down in details, so I asked Malek for a bit of history so I would have a sense of what they want the user interface to do. We had a bit of a meeting: me, Malek and Andrew, and got some stuff sorted. It made my coding a lot lot easier. I was chopping out big sections of my flow chart. Coding tomorrow should be a breeze. permalinkzzz home safely with TJ Bike 1:40am JST Tuesday 29 July 2008 (day 14006) Walked all the way to TJ Bike, got some soy milk from the conveni, ride back home no worries. permalink |
