Komatsu lesson

10:28am JST Wednesday 17 September 2008 (day 14056)

Not surprisingly, Komatsu has apparently called to cancel (part of) his lesson. I'm going to tell them I won't do it unless I'm paid for 2 hours (as originally planned). It's not worth my time to bust away from work for 2 hours and only get paid for 1 hour. Normally, busting away for 3 hours and getting paid for 2 is okay; I need the moolah.

HI Suzuki-san

I understand Komatsu wants a lesson from 3 to 4pm. It takes me one hour of travel, and the one hour
lesson is not much money for me. I want to cancel the lesson or charge for 2 hours, as originally
planned.

新しい予定をわかりましたんだけど、も壱時間電車と壱時間しかないレッソンはちょっと安いと思います。ので、
もし二時間のお金もらいましたら、大丈夫です。どう?

I'll have Sho check my Japanese there. And by "check" I mean "completely rewrite."

Sho's not here; I sent as above. They decided to cancel, which is fine by me.

Work

6:02pm JST Wednesday 17 September 2008 (day 14056)

Good progress at work today; I fixed a bug that disallowed the saving of posted items in a form: basically the global_include file (which handles stuff like auto-timed-logout) noticed that the user needed to be on the billing page which they were *almost* on when they saved the first part of the client data (they were on the billing skin, but not actually on the billing page), so when the data was saved, even though it would be saved properly by the program, before it could be saved, the global_include refreshed them to the billing page. So it *looked* like the same page, except the data had simply been discarded. But then upon entering the data again, the save worked perfectly.

I did a diff on the source and found them to be identical (not suprising give that they were the same skin), so I realized where the problem must be, and pretty quickly sorted out the solution: the billing skin form must actually specify the billing program as the action. That way the global_include will be happy to see they are already on the billing program page when it realizes they need to be there.

Then I added defined constants to the keitai website class so they'd be defined for any programs that include it, and therefore would be able to specify whether or not to read the latest blog entries and menu items along with the website.

Then I remembered that I already had booleans in the DB to let the user specify these things, so I wiped the defines replaced them with those DB fields.

THEN had a meeting with Sho to get an understanding of the billing project I'm to write next. (almost nothing to do with the billing stuff I mentioned above). This will be to automate sending of invoices each month.

fun in the s.u.n.

11:06pm JST Wednesday 17 September 2008 (day 14056)

Ami and I went to the Spiritual Unfoldment Network introductory meeting tonight, given in English by Hari (whose name was given to him by an old Indian man (his dad)) and translated into Japanese by Yukia, while Petya sat pretty quietly in the middle.

Ami says this time she could feel the energy more than the first time we went, and though she can do it now, she couldn't think of anything negative when asked during the workshop. And her head hurt some.

I mostly wiggled around and wanted to sleep for most of it.

to the to the herbs pizza

11:11pm JST Wednesday 17 September 2008 (day 14056)

After that, we went to the "To The Herbs" Italian restaurant, where I took a picture of the small plate of 12 (twelve) doritos they gave us. Twelve? What about a big basket of corn chips? I guess not in Japan, and not in Italian restaurants.

I loved my cheese pizza, and I double loved the little pitcher of honey (I drained it, partially using my straw), and I triple dipple loved the sauce from Ami's pasta. MMMMmmmmMMMMmmMMMMmmmmMMMMMmmMMMMMMMMM!!!!

I soaked all of it up that I could with my pizza. SO YUMMY!!
