Entries this day: AAAwesome_video_series_of_Dan_Burisch Caterpillars,_hungry_hungry Komatsu Work AAAwesome video series of Dan Burisch Tell The World: Dan Burisch (1 of 10) The best videos in this series are 1, 7 and 10. 1 just to get started, 7 is the best, and 10 tells what's next. permalinkCaterpillars, hungry hungry 10:13am JST Friday 19 September 2008 (day 14058) Saw some skinny caterpillars a couple weeks ago on the cherry trees near the little stream by which I walk each day to and from Motosumiyoshi. Saw them again today, and they were quite a bit fatter! They had grown to four or five times their previous mass! Wow; we should have done an infomercial to recommend these leaves as a great way to bulk up! permalinkKomatsu 5:32pm JST Friday 19 September 2008 (day 14058) Though I was *almost* late (usually 15 minutes early, but today we started 30 minutes earlier than normal), my lesson with Komatsu wasn't terrible. He actually did about an hour worth of homework (maybe more), and we actually spoke using English words for 90% of the lesson. permalinkWork 11:40pm JST Friday 19 September 2008 (day 14058) I began writing some code for the billing project at work. I was originally (t)asked to write everything from scratch (so we can see how you do stuff), but after not so much thought, I realize I'm not going to do that. First I was like, "yo Andrew; I'm going to use the DB class cause it would be silly to rewrite it." He agreed, and then when I started slappin' down some code, I was like, "well shizah; I'll need a user login system" (already written), "and a MVC framework" (already written)... AND, I was waiting and waiting for someone to make a DB for me to use, and for someone else to give me a web directory to use..... but that didn't happen, so I just ended up appending a directory to the takeout project. I'll just surgically remove it later. Plus, this will make it way easier to incorporate into our current framework. Cause it will already be there. On the trai home, I layed out the functions that I'll need to write soon. I will probably just put them in a class based on element_factory, and call it invoice_factory. permalink |
