Entries this day: Dream Dreary_iSight_support Got_dream_uploaded Great_iSight_with_TwoCanoes_VODcaster Great_meditation_timing Tamara_email Wow_earthquakes ami arimaa arrrr art clairvision_zzz Dream 6:24am JST Saturday 4 October 2008 (day 14073) I went over to where they were trying to reproduce what we had done. The guy was making cookies "Hello, everyone, my name is Mike and I just like to invite you all to come down to sing with us in the choir group; we're going to be getting started in just a few minutes," The group was breaking up, so I began to yell, and finally got their attention, "women and gentelmen me first! Everyone listen to me first!!" and I hit the wall; my voice seemed to smal and weak compared to his, "Listen to meeee!" and finally I got people's attention. "I've got them admitting that they downloaded a database ilegally, and I just need a few people who kow something about politics or the law to come support me; they are brining in their big guns now, and I've been doing this alone for some time. Just looking for some support." permalinkDreary iSight support 7:22am JST Saturday 4 October 2008 (day 14073) The text above is how much I wrote before I realized it would be way easier to record it first and have it automagically transcribed. I wondered about making a quick video using the built-in iSight. Found a reference to Quicktime Broadcaster which I downloaded only to find that while it can record to disk with a simple checkbox, it can't *not* broadcast just as easily. Someone said I can simply set the loopback to the local device, but didn't say how. So then I found hackTV, but no compiled version. I'm all for open source and DIY, but I'm also for having someone else sorted out how to compile it so I don't have to! Ah. Then I found http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/QuickTime/idxMovieCreation-date.html, and that it's got compiled versions. Then I noticed a dmg link to WhackedTV, and it seems to work just about the way I want. No heaviness of iMovie, plus its time remaining clock counting UP while it exports. WhackedTV produces a web appropriate file from the start. Or so it seems; the movie I made with iMovie was five minutes long, but the subsequent test with WhackedTV was only like 30 seconds. Pausing while recording wih WhackedTV made the sound get outta wack. permalinkGot dream uploaded 8:26am JST Saturday 4 October 2008 (day 14073) dream: making myself heard from Rob Nugen on Vimeo. Sorry about the squealy sound; I imagine it's cause I don't have an external microphone. permalinkGreat iSight with TwoCanoes VODcaster 9:10am JST Saturday 4 October 2008 (day 14073) Wow! I think I've found a great solution for recording videos straight from iSight to my local hard drive, with support for creating video podcasts: VODcaster by TwoCanoes rules. permalinkGreat meditation timing 10:17am JST Saturday 4 October 2008 (day 14073) Went outside to meditate (Helma suggested I need to build up my etheric body by chillin' with nature. Got three mosquitoe bites, and for a while had the most effective tickle in the world: a strand of spiderweb touching my nose, but then an even more awesomer thing. I thought time was getting pretty close to done, so I decided to check the clock on my phone. Pressed the button to show the time just as the alarm went off to say it was time. Like a quarter of a second after the alarm had begun to sound. Sweet. permalinkTamara email 10:07pm JST Saturday 4 October 2008 (day 14073) These are the journal-worthy bits of an email I sent to Tamara: HI Tamara! Lovely to get your email; yes things here are good. I have been commissioned to paint a small painting for 4000 yen, and offered to take part in a study about past lives for which I will receive 90,000 yen if all goes as planned. wow! I'm happy to report that Ami and I meditated together for 10 minutes this evening, and then did an eye-contact meditation for about 10 minutes. She said she saw a ¥Á¥ã¥¤¿§ hole going through my forehead. Interesting! I did not go hiking this weekend, but did meditate outside this morning.permalink Wow earthquakes 2:17am JST Sunday 5 October 2008 (day 14074) Have been having several several earthquakes! 3:21am JST Sunday 5 October 2008 (day 14074) But strangely, they don't seem to have shown up as separate events on the Japan Meteorological Society earthquake information trackin' page. permalinkami 3:14am JST Sunday 5 October 2008 (day 14074) Ami is over to visit tonight. She's a bit sick, so we spent a good deal of time sleeping, in the sense that sleep was involved. I really enjoyed that we meditated together, and did the eye contact meditation. Tomorrow she's going to scope an apartment; she seems likely to move into her own apartment soon. She still lives with her parentals, which is quite common in Japan, given the high price of housing. (at least in Tokyo) permalinkarimaa 3:13am JST Sunday 5 October 2008 (day 14074) Played Arimaa for a bit this evening. I beat the easiest two robots, and got barely beaten by the second. I hope my skillz improve from here; there's several bots to go! permalinkarrrr 3:09am JST Sunday 5 October 2008 (day 14074) I played Puzzle Pirates a bit today. Just enough to sail across one (1) ocean. Not sure if I'll play again. permalinkart 3:07am JST Sunday 5 October 2008 (day 14074) About half finished with my second commissioned piece. The style is the same as Blind Lines, which is not "my style," even though I made it.. This email sorta explains: HI Rimi! Thank you for offering the full 4000 yen! I've started the piece; I can probably finish it this weekend because I don't have anything else planned. In the future, for this particular style of painting, let's make some more money! Your 20% commission will be 2000 yen at least, for a minimum of 10,000 yen for the piece. I only ask this price for these "Blind Line" style paintings. They're very labor intensive, and not much room to be creative. I hope you don't mind. :-) Thanks! - Robpermalink clairvision zzz 3:23am JST Sunday 5 October 2008 (day 14074) Officially bedtime. Not sure that I got everything written, nor even summarized, but I think I did. Plan to finish this art piece tomorrow (maybe it could be called Blue Blind Lines) and will read Sleeper Awaken! for about 35 seconds until I fall asleep tonight. 3:42am JST oops / wow. Clairvision has a comprehensive free astrology program online. permalinkprev day next day |
