Ami's mom

Ami called me crying today saying that her mom was diagnosed with apparently having stomach cancer, and could have as little as 3 months to live, or it might not be cancer; we'll send her to a different hospital for further tests.

Um, why not be sure first, before giving such dire news and making Ami cry?

I told Ami to relax and breathe and give support to her mom. 「ママにチュして。」

Getting billing going

Today I imported a slop of data into the billing databases, plus a bit of data tweaking, and then some more. Sho has arrived, plus Yuu, and she's activating the companies that need to have invoices sent out. At first I showed Sho how to do it via phpmyadmin (not very user friendly, and definitely insecure if he clicked the wrong button), and then I added a function that would return a list of inactive companies, and added a form to select 'em and another function to activate them. Now Yuu is going through the list to activate them. There's only about 20 or so.

I'll be quite happy if she's able to get invoices out with little or no changes to the interface. I imagine there will be some changes, but hopefully not majorly OMG ones.

Meeting Kumi about ISIS 101

Met with Kumi last night to plan ISIS 101 workshop which we'd like to organize here in Japan this year or early next year. She also talked about just going to OZ to do the training there, an option I fully support, though don't know if I can afford to go *and* stay out of credit card debt.

(what does "afford" mean? Maybe invest is more appropriate, and could include going into debt temporarily to do it.

Told Kumi about Ami's mom, which sparked a discussion about whether or not we are ready to die, and what would we do if given five years to live.

Fun to see Kumi becoming more and more genki as the night progressed. It seemed like the further she got away from having been at work, the closer she blossomed into her self.

Called Ami on the way home, and asked about her mom. Ami seemed a lot better; I'm glad about that. I'll see her tomorrow after doing reiki level 3 with Mia.
