Entries this day: Helma's_stuff No_Ami Helma's stuff 1:24pm JST Sunday 16 November 2008 (day 14116) Helma, who was disallowed re-entry recently,'s stuff has now been moved out of her apartment, and will be delivered to my apartment tomorrow evening after 8pm. Total cost of operation: 2 hours' travel, 1 hour packing, 2 hours waiting for pickup-guy, 4430 yen. Total benefits of operation: food: 10 raisins, some nuts, crackers, box of granola; my choice of several books; 2 hours to read _Bleeding Sun_; a chance to help my friend take care of biznass; a chance to help a woman find exit 14; a chance to tell another woman that yes, this train stops in Âå´±»³. I'm on said train now; we're about to depart ½Âë. Next stop, Âå´±»³, and next next next next next next next next next next stop after that is mine, ¸µ½»µÈ, and head home to sleep and read and chill. Hopefully see °¡Èþ tonight, too. permalinkNo Ami 5:00pm JST Sunday 16 November 2008 (day 14116) Ami called; she's got too much shit to do tonight to come visit. Parts of me want to get pissed at her dad for having given Ami the impression that if she doesn't get it finished, he'll yell at her. Pissed at Japanese culture for not letting people take care of themselves emotionally. I tried to call Natalie so I could bitch to someone. I considered calling Jen; I considered calling Keiko; I considered calling Kevin; I considered calling David. I think I'll call Akiko, my most-English fluent Japanese friend (who's phone number I know) who can hopefully give a bit of insight on what exactly Japanese funerals are all about. I guess I could call the Internet and ask it, but I'll try Akiko first.. 5:52pm JST Nat called me back before I called anyone else. Nice. permalinkprev day next day |
