Entries this day: Dream Headin_to_Shibuya Noah's_1st_birthday i-group Dream 9:21am JST Monday 24 November 2008 (day 14124) Preparing for a trip with peeps from ultimate, I was in charge of having a place available for everyone to stay. Taking a shower, I sealed the dreain in the bath tub so all the water would stay in and keep my feet warm. I hadn't brought shampoo with me, so I searched around in the shower area and found some sort of gel that was supposed to be good for moisturizing skin. I had never used it before, but I recognized the brand name and blue jar and white translucent jelly lookin' stuff inside. Someone had used a bobby pin to scoop some of the gel out, and the thin but deep groove was still intact in the jelly. I scooped out a similar volume with my finger, being careful not to cause the carved groove to collapse. I washed my face with the jelly and noted it was alcohol based, not exactly conduscive to moisturize skin, I thought, but I was just careful to keep my eyes closed. It was time to go, and I headed out of the apartment and off the fifth floor balcony down to the parking lot below. The lot looked a lot like a parking lot for a shopping mall, bustling with activity and shopping carts. I headed down the hill (the entire landscape was sloping down toward the right) toward what I hoped was the right direction. Another guy called me back as he was coming out. I had thought I was the last one, so I went back to make sure he was okay, but then some people from the mall area were asking him about the location of a store, and he went toward the left out of the balcony. I had trouble seeing him for all the cars and posts in the way as I was down in the parking lot, but I sent him a mental message to come toward the right when he was finished. permalinkHeadin to Shibuya 12:19pm JST Monday 24 November 2008 (day 14124) Ami and I are going to Shibuya for a bit of shopping. I wanna get a battery for my camera (hope it costs less than 4000 yen) and Ami plans to buy a book for Noah, whose first birthday party will be today. Noah's parents, Mahk (*) and Yoko (*), are friends of Ami's. (*) "Is that Mac like Mac, or Mahk like you can't say R?" "Mahk like I can't say R." (*) Actually ÍÎ»Ò (¤è¤¦¤³), which would be literally transliterated as Youko, but is pronounced Yo-ko with a long vowel on the first o, yo. permalinkNoah's 1st birthday 6:18pm JST Monday 24 November 2008 (day 14124) Chillin' under a beach umbrella with Matt, David, Mark, Shin, and Mark's neighbor, while it rained around us and Mark cooked various meat products on a grill with no BBQ sauce. Though we were cold and slightly wet, I preferred that to playing with four or five little 1 year old kids inside. Ami laughed at the faces I made. David said, "it's called fear," as we watched a little baby crawling toward us without using his knees for propulsion. Just his arms and let the rest slide on the hardwood floor. Lots of food and I fell asleep on the couch watching Sesame Street until Misa came. Eventually all the babies left (except Noah), and it was much quieter. I felt a lot more comfortable at that point like I could actually make silly faces and play with Noah, but didn't quite do it. Ami brought him to me and I was like, "waaaahhh!!!" of mock fear like, "what's this thing??" permalinki group 9:29pm JST Monday 24 November 2008 (day 14124) Did not want to be at I-group. What's the point of doing this work? I have no answers; I don't know what I want to do; this just sucks.. Eventually came around to realizing I want to be a spiritual master (wtf ever that means) and make a living creating art and doing massage, reiki, shiatsu, etc. Oh, and telling stories. permalinkprev day next day |
