Entries this day: Memory_test On_time Quick_trip_to_Kagoshima back_at_my_crib_with_Ami Memory test 5:54am JST Thursday 18 December 2008 (day 14148) My phone says the weather is 80% intent on raining tonight. So I'm taking an umbrella with me to Kagoshima and back today, which will include several places to forget it: a train, another train, a plane, a bus, the clinic, another bus, another plane, yet another train, and the last train. The goal is to remember it, and not have to buy a new umbrella when I get home (if it's raining). 9:36am JST Thursday 18 December 2008 (day 14148) On the first plane, now, and I've still got the umbrella. I forgot to mention my option of forgetting it on the platform while waiting for the train, or in the airport while waiting for the plane. permalinkOn time 6:41am JST Thursday 18 December 2008 (day 14148) You know, I was just thinking how nice it is to be sitting on the train, relaxing, on time being the key phrase here. When I feel late for things, I get all grouchy and pissy, and fearful, sorta panicked. I like to be on time to things. The importance of being on time was taught to me when I was an Amway distributor, and from my men's group. It's part of "do what you say you will do." So, I try really hard to do what I say I will do. "I'll be there at 8," and I mean I'll be there at or before 8:00:00, if at all possible, sometimes, perhaps, causing others some discomfort on my way. Outta my way, people, don't you know I'm late? So, chillin' on the train, totally on time, happy, etc, I came to realize that I could choose to be on time more often, by doing things like, not waiting until the last moment do leave. Yep, a real shocker there. Sheer genius. But what will it require? Usually it's related to work; I work late, later, later, oh snap I've *got* to go. Maybe it's simply valuing my time as *my* time, which I can choose to spend in ways that keep me happy. I had that little realization around 6:40 (as written above), but I didn't actually write until now (9:55am); I wanted to continue enjoying the moment instead of writing about it. Hmmm. Taking time for myself so I can be on time. Hmm. permalinkQuick trip to Kagoshima 9:40am JST Thursday 18 December 2008 (day 14148) Sitting next to a guy named John who's "done a lot of these," though not in the past couple of years. I surmised then that he's been in Japan for a while. Yep. 10 years. 11:43am JST Thursday 18 December 2008 (day 14148) Now chillin' in the clinic. 1:48pm JST Thursday 18 December 2008 (day 14148) Now chillin' in the clinic. But now have finished the blood sample, EKG, urine sample, and have money in hand. Not much, but enough for a week of food. Interesting that while we were waiting, I decided to do a bit of meditation just as a guy was like, "so, __opening question__, oh were you meditating?" and then he and another guy were asking questions of me about meditation. Hmm. 2:09pm JST Thursday 18 December 2008 (day 14148) On the Airport Shuttle, about to roll out. 3:43pm JST Thursday 18 December 2008 (day 14148) On the plane now, about to back out and fly out. permalinkback at my crib with Ami 7:37pm JST Thursday 18 December 2008 (day 14148) At home. Already ate dinner with Ami. I happened to see Ami reading magazines at the 7-11 near Hirama station and snuck up beside her after I paid my 15,000(!) yen phone bill. I was inappropriately close to her (for a stranger) when she looked over and was like, "Waow!" with her mouth shape, not making any noise, perhaps because she had on her earphones at the moment. 10:00am JST Friday 19 December 2008 (day 14149) We walked back to my house and had dinner, sex, and a nap until perhaps 11pm when she headed home. permalinkprev day next day |
