Entries this day: Christmas_Day!! Christmas Day!! 7:33am JST Saturday 27 December 2008 (day 14157) In Japan, Christmas is a non-event. It's a work day, like any other, though pushed as a big shopping day. Fred said he wanted to have Christmas with me. If I recall correctly, I think the conversation went something like this: 3:50 PM Fred: oh yeah 3:51 PM i wanna have christmas! me: woohoo! what day are you arriving? er, date? Fred: i was all, i haven't had christmas with my brother in years. 3:52 PM xmas day, 2pm (25th japan time) me: Tru Fred: it doesn't have to be a big thing me: Christmas will be awesome. Fred: i just miss my brother 3:53 PM me: I miss you too I miss you too Fred: so like a little tree and a wrapped knickknack and a colored-y sock me: done I've even got a present for you. 3:54 PM Fred: arrite, awesome. that's really what i want. me: you got it, bro Fred: thank you. it'll be the best christmas ever! 3:55 PM me: YES !!!! :-)!!!!!!! Thanks for letting me know Fred: welcome me: cause otherwise I wouldn't have done anythnig there's no such thing as Christmas here Fred: yeah, i almost forgot,
And guess what? Santa came last night! Took the tree from downstairs and put it up on my desk! Presents everywhere!! And I do mean everywhere: Ami will have to go outside to get one of hers; hahahaha! 3:18pm JST Sunday 28 December 2008 (day 14158) Christmas Day was great yesterday. We opened a slew of gifts and Ami wrote all the names of people and items involved wih giving and receiving. I got two beautiful books of pictures of Earth from above, a text over which I drooled for quite a while in a book store, but lamented not having an English version. Now I do! Not just one, but two! permalinkprev day next day |
