Entries this day: Email_to_janette Escape_to_Shibuya State_of_My_Life Sweets_Paradise Train_back_home Email to janette janettttttteee!!!! 07 January 2009 I miss you miss you miss you lots!! Somehow we've been able to enjoy ourselves here in podunk Tokyo. We went to a place called Shibuya and to a cafe called Denmark because that's where you and Freddo went while you were here last time. How's stuff for you? I'll be heading to a clinical drug trial in Kagoshima just as Fred leaves, make several dollars and use that to study Japanese intensively. Then when my next job search time comes, I'm gonna apply for jobs here, *and* apply for jobs in Dubai. Just because I'm ready for another big change. Fred and I went to play ultimate frisbee on Sunday, and Ami came to play too! Then we went to "weekday" ultimate last night, and it was much funner than I expected, cause basically when a point is scored, the other teams picks up the disc *right* there, and begins to play. More like basketball, so no time is wasted walking back to the other side of the field, setting up, making plans, hucking the disk, etc etc. Instead, we just play! run! go! Whooooo!!! A few days ago we enjoyed a white elephant gift exchange at my ultimate friend Genny with a G's house. We were two Gs at her house, so she was Genny with three G's, but I didn't think to tell her that until just now. Ah well. Today Fred and I are going to Shibuya for a 90 minute dessert buffet fest, and then roll ourselves to internet access and get back to work. He's been working on his PhD, and I've been working on random stuff, video game, a text adventure, meditation, facebook and email. I don't want you to waste more time online, but if you wanted to get a facebook account, I would be happy to be your friend on there too! I love you bunches. I love you bunches of flowers. Love Love Love - Rob!permalink Escape to Shibuya 5:25pm JST Wednesday 7 January 2009 (day 14168) Fred and I have escaped the clutches of my warm room with sporadic internet to visit Shibuya and embark on a 90 minute dessert chowing adventure at Sweets Paradise before heading to solid internet access at Manboo. I've brought both my computers so I can synchronize my pics of MT3 construction with my storage space on S3 with my silver PowerBook (purchased from Jason) while doing Flash programming on this computer (white MacBook). Maybe I need to name these computers and ... oh wait; I have named the other one. Fred was like, "you need to name your computer," and I was like, "bah; who cares??" and 2 seconds later I discovered "paintbrush" on my local network, and was like, "wtf is paintbrush?" and Fred goes, "that's my computer's name!" and I go, "*I* want a name for my computer!!" So I named the PowerBook ±¦±ýº¸±ý. I think I'll name this one ¸µµ¤. permalinkState of My Life 10:41pm JST Wednesday 7 January 2009 (day 14168)
Sweets Paradise 6:19pm JST Wednesday 7 January 2009 (day 14168) Welp, here we are! We've been here 10 minutes, eaten about a plate worth each. "I'm gettin' kinda full." "Me too." "But, this was a good idea." "Yep. And we've done it." "Yeah, we've successfully sat in a room full of high school girls for 10 minutes... and gotten bored." Fred, cheating, just got a plate of spaghetti and some bread stuff. My email to Ami: ¥Ù¥Ã ¤¤¤Ã¤Ñ¤¤¤Ë¤Ê¤Ã¤¿¡£¤ï¤§¡¼permalink Train back home 12:27am JST Thursday 8 January 2009 (day 14169) On the train now, headed back home. We took a short excursion down into the ÉûÅÔ¿´Àþ, and I showed Fred the platform over the tracks which will soon be the extension of my Tokyu Toyoko Line. (yes, mine.) Fred was impressed that the dude at the gate let us in so easily after I was like, "can we just look at the line?" and he was all, "just look?" "yep." and he let us in. Sometimes I love Japan. And we just looked and took some pictures and got a woman to take our picture and headed back out. Good times. I had to whiz, so when we got to my line (up the escalator I hadn't yet used), we went to the midpoint on the line and down to the loo. I expelled probably 10 CCs per second for 30 or more seconds, but ain't sure how one could reliably measure the volume per second. I hope the clinical trial requires us to collect all our urine so we can have a whizzing contest. I doubt it will happen that way, but. permalinkprev day next day |
