Entries this day: App_success Laura_in_Shibuya Takadanobaba_with_Ami App success 11:19am JST Saturday 21 February 2009 (day 14213) Got a bit more understanding via an iPhone app toot; this author (nitrex88) showed a way of setting up the nib file (.xib) that made more sense to me than previous ways. Now it may just be that I had a better framework to understand, but I was like, "oohhhhhh!!" cause I suddenly understood. Anyway, it's just a countdown timer, but I gotta few more iPhone-app-smarts. 12:18pm JST Hmmm. Haven't been able to get it to both count *up* and count *down* in a reasonable way. I think the problem is simply with the boundary states, determining if we should next go up or down, especially in the *first* case, where the chooser hasn't been given a value. I assume we can make a constructor in some way, but I'm not sure the syntax. permalinkLaura in Shibuya 5:03pm JST Saturday 21 February 2009 (day 14213) Met Laura from Hong Kong (formerly Laura from Singapore). Her parents named her 美雲 and she named herself Laura after the girl running down the hill in the intro of Little House on the Prairie. We hadn't previously met in this incarnation, but somehow connected electronically over the interweb (Myspace?) a couple years ago, and have been in sporadic e-touch since. We met at Hachiko, ate at Thanks Nature, while she asked about my plans to visit OZ, and I told her a bit about the ISIS technique of emotional cleansing. Headed across the love hotel hill to the cramped shopping megapolis Donki-Hote to wander around a bit, and then back toward the station where I had plenty of time before meeting Ami, so walked with Laura toward Harajuku. Hugged her bye on top of the crosswalk after identifying Harajuku Station, Meiji Jingu, and Yoyogi Park entrances. Walked back by way of the park-like path near NHK, where I saw Choco Crunch singing acappella [sic], and then saw a huge shirt labeled FAT. permalinkTakadanobaba with Ami 5:08pm JST Saturday 21 February 2009 (day 14213) With Ami in Takadanobaba at a coffee shop just outside the exit, chillin' for 20 minutes while Maruan and Kyoko arrive and we all head out to their ByebyeJapanHelloPizza party. They each got a scholarship for three months in Italy (let's say Milan) in an international peace oriented course (let's say Piece of Pizza Planet of Peace Program) after which they plan to travel around Europe. いいいいいいなあぁぁぁーー! 5:26pm JST Just took a picture of チンドン屋さん in Takadanobaba. I wonder if FB will care if I hotlink photos from them......... Dang it bugs me to have my pics all splayed across the web, but it sure is easy to upload them there. I might have to break down and use a DB to store pics on my domain. permalink |
