Entries this day: Beach_with_Tatu Lesson_with_Yurika Pink_Cow_with_myself Train_home_liner yo Beach with Tatu 10:56am JST Thursday 16 July 2009 (day 14358) Going to da beach now with Tatu. 4:18pm JST Thursday 16 July 2009 (day 14358) Great time at the beach with Tatu; he got lotsa pictures with his incredibly cool super-fast monster Canon 50D camera. I went barefoot; the sand was hot. very hot, at times. We wandered along the shore watching surfers, onto the T-bar tetrapod thing with old guys fishing, and to "those white sheds over there," which, fortunately, turned out to be summer beach bars. At the first one we visited, Sato introduced himself and we chowed tofu and sausage on sticks (actually hot dogs on sticks), and were pleasantly greeted with "let's take a picture!" by a girl on the way out, "I want to be in the middle," she assured us. Down a couple spots later, where I could no longer handle the hot sand, we enjoyed huge bowls of shaved ice: lemon for Tatu and azuki for me. Yum!! We learned the term for 'brain freeze' which in Japanese is an onomatopoeia 「キンキン」 "kinkin" which we though was pretty appropriate. More tetrapod hopping and then back for more fun at the shaved ice spot and (because we asked for it in our glass cups instead of plastic bowls), some free shaved ice (blue hawaiian flavor (has nothing on the azuki!)) and it was great. permalinkLesson with Yurika 8:04pm JST Thursday 16 July 2009 (day 14358) Haven't seen Yurika in over a month; as she's quite pretty, and I've been quite single, I gazed at her face for part of the time that she gazed at her paper, trying to find the mistakes within the lines I had marked for her. As always, she did great homework, and the hour lesson went quite quickly. permalinkPink Cow with myself 9:47pm JST Thursday 16 July 2009 (day 14358) AFter lesson with Yurika, I went to The Pink Cow, where I got some great news from Traci, who met Jared yesterday (I encouraged him to visit her, so I should get the finders fee); they are going to meet up on Sunday to talk about some ideas they've got in terms of restauranting. Awesome! I heard some delicious sounding ideas; I look forward to their success! permalinkTrain home liner 9:51pm JST Thursday 16 July 2009 (day 14358) Right now I'm on the ホームライナー小田原25号, which I would translate as "Homeliner Odawara #25" which cost an extra 500 yen, but guarantees a seat and his supa-faster than normal. 44 minutes instead of 52ish. Whoosh! Sitting next to a girl who I asked how to pronounce 号 (ごう)so I could transcribe it from my ticket. permalinkyo yo have you heard of text-to-movies? YO!!!! what up, my brotha? I can't imagine it. I sorta can, but not really... there is only a few guys doing it there is like 3eople on the ultra list and I'd say like less than 5 guys run barefoot and ultra is anything longer than 26.2 miles ah well, it's still quite awesome but most are 50k, or 50 miles, or 1or 1les I was just going to say "well I won't say it's awesome, cause it's not 1les" but you negated that shit quick; it's amazing!!!! lol ultras are totally awesome you'd love the ultra community everyone is totally cool laid back noncompetitive encouraging its all about each person's own personal journey ah cool that that's really neat yeah.... the best guy in the world at ultras is a guy names Scot Jurek he is the "lance armstrong" of ultras I see has won the most prestegious event 7x in a row wooooo and I was talking to him at one race and we were congratulating him on running 50 miles in like 5 hrs or something... or something like that so he was even finding a way to compliment people who were running twice as slow as he was wow that's really cool implying it's "easier" for him cause he's faster hahahha yeah.... the ultra community is a very unique group lol. exactly aight I gotta bust to bed permalinkprev day next day |
