Entries this day: Beach Lina_Lunch Work Beach 10:08am JST Tuesday 8 September 2009 (day 14412) Got up at 6:45am, did a sitting sleepitation and then woke up Soness at 7am as planned, but she "needed 30 more minutes" to sleep, (time which I could not afford before work), so I headed to the beach without her, rock hopped and jogged. The water was higher than I had ever seen it before, so that was pretty cool. Listened to Shaman drumming during my run, the best bit watching the waves crash upward against a flat concrete wall (as I stood on the wall, the water shot vertically up in front of me, though not as high as I might have hoped) Soness was still zonked when I got back; I didn't wake her up again, but just got ready for work and am at work now. Back to work! permalinkLina Lunch 10:12am JST Tuesday 8 September 2009 (day 14412) Going to lunch with Lina today. 8:37pm JST Tuesday 8 September 2009 (day 14412) Lunch was fun; we went to Tandoor, the Indian restaurant that Kevin and I used to visit after I-group meetings some months ago. Lina told me about the long + boring meetings they have at work on Tuesdays, and said she'd like Uni-qlo (?) meetings: standing with no refreshments. Five minutes and done. She asked me lotsa questions about NOVA from back in the (terrible) day, and we talked about movies a bit. I'm in a bit of a question-mark state of mind as to whether she is interested in more than just friendship. I'm not, at this moment, but I'm not going to "say anything" unless it's broached as a topic. Hmmm I wonder why that is. Oh, I know, cause of all the times I've told women I'm not interested and they verbally slapped back like, "psshh who said I was interested???" jeez. permalinkWork 8:42pm JST Tuesday 8 September 2009 (day 14412) Semi-rough day at work; code just wasn't doing the right thing. Turns out the underlying initialization functions were funked up. Alfonzo fixed them (he blamed himself for having copied them from a forum without testing them) and then I went to lunch as he finished up the code against which I had been proverbially banging my fingers. When I got back, he was just finishing up, and I tested all the different cases for the code, and it passed them all. Then was going to work on the next section, but wanted to do a code review. Alfonzo was like, "you review it first, and make sure you're familiar with it," and I noted that the delete functionality hadn't been implement. So I worked on allowing deletion of records, but with an "art thou surest?" page. And then was like, "whoohoo!" and realized that it still needs search functionality... ah crud, and I realized I had merged the functionality of the search and the edit all in one extravaganza. Was about to blow it off until tomorrow, but after I wrote down my list of things to do, I was like "well numbers 2, 3, 4 are easy," so I did them quickly, and then just was left with 1 and 5 to do tomorrow. And I did part 1a of number 1. Nice. permalink |
