She was like, "yah sorry; I know it's still messed up, but you can go to the shell station and they can fix the rest of the way." I headed out of the parking lot and Charmain jumped onto the back of the car bumper and held onto the seats to stay on. I turned right, then realized I should have turned left. No obvious traffic, so I did a giant U-turn in the middle of the intersection as Charmain held on tightly. She fell off for a second, but got back on and we headed down the hill. Running along the ridge overlooking the tracks, we heard the train coming but needed to get to wait for the opposite-bound train to go by. We were going to run down the steps and then toward the front of the train, but I realized we would save time if we cut off the right angle, so I went down the hill at an angle and stood on the tracks in front of the train stopped at the platform to make sure my companions got on first. The conductor saw us and waited for us no problem. permalink GIT 12:10pm JST Saturday 26 September 2009 (day 14430) Created a git repository on my local machine and on my server at ~/php_file_journal.git AND on my server at ~/git.robnugen.com/php_file_journal.git, which is where I wanted it in the first place. I think I committed README.TXT (visible below (though with lowercased filename)) to the local repository and pushed it to the first one mentioned on my server, but not yet to the second one, which is actually where I think I want it. But I might not want it web-accessible like that.. welllll I guess I do, but perhaps in a more thoughtfully constructed file path than the site's root. Right now, I wanna figure out how my current local git thing even knew about the.. oh wait I bet I know. I have a script that created a remote copy and then created a local dir and pulled the remote to the local. That was when I had forgotten to include git.robnugen.com as part of the file path so it was written to a non-web-accessible location on my server. When I created a new remote repsoitory but the same local repository, the local already knew its original source so when I did the push, it went to the first source. So, the solution I see is to either
12:21pm JST Saturday 26 September 2009 (day 14430) Ah. Number 3 was trivially easy. There's a file called .git/config in the repository. I set its source to be url = ssh://thunderrabbit@git.robnugen.com:git.robnugen.com/php_file_journal.git 12:24pm JST Saturday 26 September 2009 (day 14430) Hmm. I just set ignorecase = false, cause that's how I prefer my filesystem to work. permalinkGrampa's Dream 1:57pm JST Saturday 26 September 2009 (day 14430) I'm watching the pre-performance performance at Grampa's Dream, the show Soness is in for Carnival with World Family this year. This is my second viewing, this time with Soness's friend Mayumi, her daughter Kaede, and friend Naomi, with due-in-two-weeks unnamed baby in the slow cook oven. permalinkcalifornia pizza kitchen 10:01am JST Sunday 27 September 2009 (day 14431) We ate at California Pizza Kitchen last night after Grampa's Dream. Soness played with Mayumi's daughter Kaede, from coloring to going to watch the pizzas being prepared. I was pretty quietly chill-chowing the whole time. Our server had SALLY on her nametag, but said she was from Japan and Sally was her nickname. Soness said, "isn't there a song about Sally?" and I quickly sang snippets: "so, Sally can wait," then "Mustang Sally" then, "ride, Sally, ride" though I know that's the same song now, I thought I thought of three songs yesterdayq. permalinkcd, headphone shopping 10:08am JST Sunday 27 September 2009 (day 14431) Soness and I went CD and headphone shopping for her. Found a perfect rack for drying dishes for the kitchen, so bought that as well. Asked them to hold it until we were done with other shopping, then headed to DICE to look at CDs, with a little stop at Tokyo Hands. Soness found and purchased an India Arie CD, and then we headed to Yodobashi Camera by way of the world's shortest escalator, which Jen and I documented some time ago, though I can't now find the proof. Went to Yodobashi and looked at lots of headphones and even some iPod/iPhone speakers, but didn't buy anything except Soness got an iTunes debit card. Headed home and realized we forgot the dish drying rack. d'oh! permalink |
