Dream confront a 'Christian'

8:52am JST Wednesday 30 September 2009 (day 14434)

In a house, with some commotion going on outside, and two guys knocked on the door and sorta let themselves in; no one else inside really knew how to handle them, so they asked me to so I went to the main guy all, "get OUT," while pointing at the door as I bounced him out of the room.

"Now," I said, once we were outside, "it may not seem like a very friendly way to greet somebody," we chuckled, "but I feel uncomfortable when people I don't know barge into the house. How may I help you?"

"Well, I just wondered if you had found Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Sav..."

"Um, yeah, about that. I am pretty much clear that I don't subscribe to the Christian mythology and religious silliness, so don't waste your time."

"I know how you feel, and I used to think the same thing.. that was until I got married and found Jesus and have been Right ever since."

I thought for a moment and realized things didn't quite add up. "So you mean you were married *before* you found Christ? And you call yourself a Christian?" (*)

He looked sheepish, and his friends all looked at him.

I continued, "and you call yourself Christian, but go barging into another man's house without asking?"

He looked down at his feet and I woke up.

(*) Yes, I realize this dream-logic makes no sense in our waking reality.

Work

10:51pm JST Wednesday 30 September 2009 (day 14434)

Went to the United States for lunch with Kitty today. Or at least it seemed like it! We went to a hotel in ¤Ò¤í¡¼ that caters to navy and peeps from Yokoska base, where everyone speaks English, and all the prices are inexpensive, in US currency, and the cheesecake is dense like cheesecake.

It was her last day at work today so she bought a thank you cheesecake for everyone, and I got to join her for a last work lunch. Hopefully not our last time ever to chill out, but with Tokyo lifestyles, I wouldn't be surprised. But she does live in Zushi, which is quite close to Chigasaki, so who knows! Maybe she and her husband will come to Soness's next Chigasaki Beach BBQ.

In other news, I didn't get as much finished today as I wanted work-wise, but I just need to do the same thing again one more time tomorrow and will be caught up.

jamaican night!

10:45pm JST Wednesday 30 September 2009 (day 14434)

Soness and I each went to Jamaican night at The Pink Cow tonight; she invited me and I was like, "I was already going to go..." "well, why didn't you invite me???"

Hmm! I guess cause I didn't invite anyone, and I don't really invite people all that often.

It was my first time at Jamaican Night, but I think it's been going on for at least a couple months.. maybe way longer, but it just showed up in my mental radar last month for the first time. I expected lots of music and dancing because on the writeup it says, "NO Dancing! (yeah right!)" but.. there was no dancing!

In fact, there was very limited standing as they were all playing Taboo and then as I and others joined and there were too many people to sit at the table, people broke off to play dominoes and maybe other games... Soness and Raj (who she knew already but happened to see on her way from Harajuku to Da Cow) joined after a bit and we had a righteous and riotous time, hollering and being quiet and laughing at the abdominal snowman and watching two people find out they're both from the Charleston in West Virginia!

I saw Brook and talked to him about Cow-Go; saw Daisha before we went in and talked to her about JMW (33 confirmed events).

Traci wasn't there, but I think she will be tomorrow.
