Entries this day: Bike_parking_guy Kana_in_station Left_work_party_early i-group Bike parking guy 8:51am JST Monday 28 December 2009 (day 14523) I'm just wearing sandals (and no socks cause it's rainy) so one of the bicycle parking guys was like, 「足さむたくないの?」"aren't your feet cold?" and I'm all 「さむたくない」"not cold" even though they were a bit cold, just not *that* cold, plus I don't know how to explain in Japanese that I prefer cold+barefoot over warm+shod except to say 「沓がきらい」(I hate shoes) which probably isn't very polite. I guess I could use the polite phrase にがて, but it means, "not good at doing" so I think it's a bit weird to say I'm not good at wearing shoes, (though it'd be pretty funny!) Ah. Not so funny. My dictionary says 苦手(にがて) means "poor (at), weak (in), dislike (of)" so I guess my shoes fit this phrase. permalinkKana in station 8:45am JST Monday 28 December 2009 (day 14523) Kana, who lives next next door to Chez Soness (I'm not quite ready to say me and Soness), saw me in Chigasaki station, "Rob!おはよう" and I was slow to recognize her cause I don't see her very often, and her long black hair was all hidden under a knit cap. After a moment of me forgetting how to say, "great to see you, but I gotta run!" I remembered her name+identity and gave her an A-frame hug and "HI Kana" Made my train with several seconds to spare. permalinkLeft work party early 9:38pm JST Monday 28 December 2009 (day 14523) Today was the end of year party for work. I could only stay for about 40 minutes cause I had i-group. Sat next to Hannah with whom I haven't really spoken a lot, but who seems pretty cool. permalinki group 9:41pm JST Monday 28 December 2009 (day 14523) I-group featured two rare faces: Enio, who lives primarily in China, and Steve, who lives fully in Indianapolis. Takeshi and I were there as well, but wouldn't have met if not for either one of the other two men. My work was about mommy. Hugged and hugged and felt loved. permalinkprev day next day |
