He was up on a balcony in line, and I was down on the ground standing with my toes behind a line. We kept trying to throw each other off balance with our funny moves. Peoeple around us ewere like, "wha???" but we didn't care cause we were having fun. Some kind of worlwide problem occured, or at lest city wide, and people needed o be given bicycles and sandwiches to get them started on their way home; I was in charge of gettting the andwiches made, and the bicycles prppared. Preparation for sandwiches was simple a slice of bread, spread peanut butter, spread green pea salad, anotehr piece of bread, in a bag with an apple. Bycycle preparation involved cutting the lock on the bike in such a way that it could be determined that *we* cut the lock, and would reimburse the owner later. It was determined that if we cut the chain just below the lock thre would still be a link left on it and that weould prove we had done it. We got the first bicycle and sandwiche ready, and opened the gate to give it to the first perosn in the short line. I was like, "we're going to need some help" so I asked Petra if she could help, but she couldn't and I asked if we could get two volunterers. I put one in charge of sandwich making, and the other in charge of bycycle chain cutting. The sanwich making went well enough, and I saw athe table covered in bread slices with check peas spread acros them. The bicycles weren't going as wel. We ssmed to keep runing out of bicycles and chain cutters and the guy was like, "I'm nt feeling so hot," and another guy was like, "I'm going to tinker with this bicycle," referring to one which had a huge fish tank strapped to the back. Throughout this, people kep coming in the other door asking if we had seen the pit bul. I was like, "Michael brought the pit bull by a little while ago, and then another guy came loking for teh pit butll about 30 minutes ago. He had a big fuzzzy white dog, but the pit bull had already left. Now you're looking for the pit bul, but he's still gone. I don't know where the pit bull lives, so sorry aobout that. permalinkRock hoppin 1:50pm JST Sunday 17 January 2010 (day 14543) After Soness and I had breakfast at noon, we went to the beach where she went running and I went rock hopping. Actually I first went to the wall where the robot used to live under the sand, and when Soness came running by, we did a passing low-five hand slap and she went on her merry way. I ran up the steep still-broken-via-typhoon beach and kinda cut my right big toe. Ooops! I ran to the rocks to rock hop, leaving little blood spots with each step (hee hee), and left a few more blood drops on the rocks. Ran up the T of the rocks, down one wing and then across both wings, and then back and bink(!) I blipped another hole in my left big toe! yay! Matching blood spots! I drizzled some blood on a rock while standing enjoying the sun and then headed back to the bikes where I found a little bit of bamboo on which I carved I LOVE YOU and left it in Soness's bicycle basket. Headed back home and jumped on my computer. permalinkleigh live hair cutting Amy live painting 10:59pm JST Sunday 17 January 2010 (day 14543) I posted several pictures online (but haven't worked out a way to easily put them in my journal) from the Pink Cow performance art of Leigh (guy with girl's spelling) live hair cutting, and Amy live painting, and Peter live DJing.. I'm not sure why the term "live" is used, but basically "on stage," and "in front of a live audience" are equally or more accurate. Anyway, big fun, especially with a whole paparazzi of people taking photographs of the event. Lots of Leigh's friends came out, including Lee (girl with guy's spelling ("we took each other's names!")). Amy's partner in painting (whose name I've forgotten) wasn't there tonight. Turns out Amy is leaving Japan for 5 months starting in March or so. My Pink Cow friend Yuki came and we chatted a bit about her starting work tomorrow, and about her friend Kevin (who works for Metropolis (she used to work at Metropolis)) showing some slides tonight. My Kagoshima friend Will came out, and performed as well, but I had to leave before their band started. He said he would email me before their next gig. Nice! permalinksoness 11:06pm JST Sunday 17 January 2010 (day 14543) Soness and I are on the SSL, writing an email and journal entry, respectively. She got to meet Jon of the Cup tonight! I'm glad they finally got to meet. I'm sure it was a night full of laughter! permalink |
