Entries this day: Leigh_at_The_Pink_Cow Lou_at_The_Pink_Cow Phil_at_The_Pink_Cow Leigh at The Pink Cow 11:23pm JST Tuesday 26 January 2010 (day 14552) Tonight I went to The Pink Cow to see Leigh the rapper+hair artist who does live hair cutting on stage there. Tonight he was rapping, though, for Australia Day, cause he's British.. Wait, what? Well, anyway, his backup musicians included a digeridoo and circular breathing, Jon on shakuhachi, plus Hide on guitar. They were on stage for the first time or so, a band with no name. After their performance he promoted his next live hair cutting: Friday 12 February. Be there or be square, cause he'll be there cutting my hair! I ask him whose hair he'd be cutting, and he was like, "prolly Hide's again," and I was like, "how about me??" and he was like "cool!" so I believe that means "let's do it!" permalinkLou at The Pink Cow 11:14pm JST Tuesday 26 January 2010 (day 14552) Though I went to see Leigh, when I walked in I saw Louise McLeod! Wow! How great to get to hang out with Lou at The Pink Cow!! I hadn't really gotten to talk to her in years, since back when we worked at Gaba and used to watch movies at her place. Got to hear the great news of her next few years' plan of writing five books and going back to OZ to go back to school for education and theater. Awesome! I still have a lovely crush on her even though she's well below my dating age range; she's only 27!! When she heard about the hair shaving, she was like, "cool!" and wants to have Leigh cut hers in May. I introduced them and imagine it's as good as confirmed! permalinkPhil at The Pink Cow 11:34pm JST Tuesday 26 January 2010 (day 14552) Phil Crowder also performed at The Pink Cow tonight. He's from Sydney originally, but now lives down on the Leisure Coast where he enjoys copious nature and surfing goodness. After his set, and after Lou left, I sat down next to him at the sound board and chatted about life and all things adventuresome. Told him about Clairvision and PB; he told me his latest adventures, focused finding himself after leaving a long relationship. I got to learn a lot more about sound boards than I ever knew before. Traci was like, "when you sit in this seat, either you gotta do the sound or let us climb over you to do it." Either way sounds good to me! Er um, anyway, Phil and I connected on FB and he got me a drink (OJ) and headed back to the stage to join the jam session. Ah; I should have bought him a drink as I was leaving. Said bye to him between stanzas of whatever song they were singing (it reminded me of Hotel California but I'm pretty sure that wasn't it) and headed out. permalinkprev day next day |
