Dream River

Hiking a bit with Soness and Carl/Daniel , I was going to climb down the carved totem pole supporting the bridge from which Soness had wandred down dto the river side. She asked how I was going to get down, and I said, "I'll climb and catch up with you" and then she was on the side of the river, and Carl jumped off the bridge over really shallow water and I was aafraid he'd break his leg, so I didn't look, but listened for screams... there was were none, and I was glad, but then I had to go to the restroom and did that and was sitting there for ta while naked and a cleaning slady came in and I was like "どぞどぞ"in Japanese, but she said in English, "the sign says don't go in, and I was like, 'Ive been here for a while" assuming the sign wasn't there when I went in because I sure didn't see it. I went out and was going to jump nakedly off the bridge because there was some deeper water I hadn't seen before, and I noticed my shorts there but I don't know how they got there so I put them on and woke up.

Lunch

I slept slept slept until about 12:30pm today, and then went outside to check out of my guest house, and get some lunch.. met four guys out front and we went to lunch nearby, right across the moat from the southwest corner of old city Chiang Mai, where some kids were climbing the wall and jumping into the water. I couldn't help but recall my dream!

After lunch, I walked to Imm Eco. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it!!

Tik (pronounced "teek") is the employee whose smile I've been enjoying while talking to her at the desk of Imm Eco, where I'm staying. She's the one with whom I negotiated to get my room for 300 Bhat per day, (10,000 Bhat per month, actually) and who's taught me a bit of Thai language. I gotsta start learning the character set, and need to switch my journal to UTF-8 pronto. Yesterday she let me use one of the lodge's rental bikes for free, and told me how to get to a market nearby, wehre I bought some fruit, and some ??? nad ??? and ???? and ???? (those are question marks, not misinterpreted thai characters) I have no idea what I bought, but most of it has been delicious, actually all of it was delicious, thought I haven't tired everything yet. Two more things to try. of those that I bought,.. They were all dessert type things, which I'm sure helps support the likelihood that they'd be delicious.

I've just gotten settled into my new location here in Chiang Mai. From my massage school, it's 1/7th the distance than where I stayed last night. (5 minutes' walk as opposed to 36 minutes' walk.) It's twice the price, but features a rather large pool (5 lanes plus shallow area) and about 20 deck chairs, restaurant with free breakfast, free access to ye olde internets, and awesome outdoor-ish showers, and a bunch of large trees as canopy for the place and gardens.. I mean, basically it's paradise. $9 per night. Aww yeah.

I've visited the school, and it seems great; classes start tomorrow (13 hours from now), so I plan to sleep, wake, eat, put on some long pants so I can enter the immigration office in proper attire, sort out my education visa (I wonder if I can do it in one visit!!), and then head to school, hopefully on time. Hmmm!!
