Entries this day: Day_one_of_second_class Fifth_day_of_first_class git_abj.fly2.nu_code Day one of second class 12:05am ICT Tuesday 1 June 2010 (day 14678) Dude! This time it's a class of all dudes. :-) Already in the room when I arrived at 8:30 was Wayne, from OZ. Then Shawn and Shane came in. Shawn is well-bearded and from Alaska, while Shane is well-Hawaiian and lives in Las Vegas. They're apparently good friends, and Shawn suggested to Shane that he try out the class. Scott came in just after Air was like, "I hope no one else comes," and "oh no; you're all guys!" and explained, "you're heavy!" He had come in on the night bus from Bangkok, barely got any sleep on the bus, and was pretty much dead tired during the class. When I first saw Shane, I was like, "hmm!" cause he's kinda big, and I wasn't sure how easily I'd be able to put him into a back arch. Getting to talk to him, I found really exciting connections around healing and spirituality. After I did reiki on his foot, he was like, "wow, your reiki symbol is really beautiful," and began to draw it out for me. At first I was like, "whut" because the symbols are secret, but the symbol he drew wasn't the one I visualize; he drew a far more complex thing that, gosh, I don't know, so I was like, "wow! I'm glad you are able to see something!" He was quite complimentary, saying he could see a column of light from my crown chakra and stuff. Sweet. I realized that I really like people who genuinely compliment me on things (esp. things I'd like to have noticed). Maybe I should make a bigger effort to compliment people. The sequence of moves was super easy for me to remember. I visualized myself doing them in Tokyo for lots of people. permalinkFifth day of first class 12:26am ICT Tuesday 1 June 2010 (day 14678) I just about walked out of my Thai language class because he was going way too quickly for me. I mean, he *has* been going way to quickly for me. Then I was like, aight stop to myself until I could figure out what to do. Then to him I was like, "aight stop," and explained, "I can't read these characters yet," referring to all the Thai characters that look a lot like แตวดาสหปรอป๔๓ย๒งกงด๘๙รสคลาหม๗รปกง to a non-Thai reader like me. I go, "I just want to work on reading," so I asked him to leave all the stuff he had written on the board, and I began to work out what I could read / recognize, etc. Now, though I can't yet write them with my physical keyboard, I can read and write stuff like, หก, สาม and สิบ., written with my electronic keyboard. Class went great once I got him working the way I wanted. permalinkgit abj.fly2.nu code 12:53am ICT Tuesday 1 June 2010 (day 14678) HI Richard I've made several changes to the image-dropbox code so it will work on my system. Eventually I'd like to get it so the code will work on both your system and mine with no modifications. Right now, though I doubt you'd want all my code, I did find a bug that disallows newly created users to log in. http://github.com/thunderrabbit/image-dropbox/commit/be867652c40833d798d48ea568a4862024731596#L1L38 Basically your DB INSERT is saving the plaintext $password to the users table instead of SHA1 $hash_password - - - Also, I see you've got the schema.sql and schema-update.sql written so they can be imported on the command line. I think it would be better for users if those were written as .php files that could be run from the web. Two reasons: It would be easier for most users (who don't do command line stuff), AND the files could use the conf.php values for the DB name so they would "just work" with no modifications. To make the DBs via web, I started to write fixes/install.php, but realized it would be a mess to keep a .PHP verson and a .sql version of the DB create files. http://github.com/thunderrabbit/image-dropbox/commit/3829ab5a0cb1c4a078eae207ea65519e02a0baa9#diff-0 What are your thoughts on converting the files from .sql to .php? Thanks - Rob ps: I'm sorry for my email about "fixing" the template system that already worked. :-) -- Freestyle art and healing rob@robnugen.com I'm pretty excited to have gotten what I think will be the solution for my fly2.nu animals. A guy named Richard has written some code called "image-dropbox" and has the source hosted via github. It pretty much looks like it does all the things I want it to do, without much extra. And it's small. http://abj.fly2.nu/ basically works now, though it's got a way to go. Please don't upload any pics unless they include my bear Johnny. (yes I know I uploaded Spaghetti Spoon, but that will be deleted as soon as the delete functionality works.) 1:39am ICT It works now. crap I gotta go to bed. permalinkprev day next day |
