Entries this day: Diving_cow Lunchi evening Diving cow 3:48pm ICT Thursday 15 July 2010 (day 14722) I didn't dive because it would blow my budget and my ear's still a bit infected, but U-Cow got to go down for a few happy snaps with Paige and Neir. He also went off the boat before Brett saved him so gallantly. The setting = beautiful. The sun = mostly sunny. The ocean = quite blue and ten meters visibility. The rocky islands = hella cool and I want to come back and jump off them into the water. Most amazing to me = each island is basically sheer vertical rocks sticking right out of the water. Their bases were eroaded by said water, given that it's been sending waves their way for what must be several months now, at least. How quickly must they have risen and then stopped in their current positions to let the water wear away at their bases??!!?? "Or," said Stu, "how quickly did the water level drop? Cause these are limestone which pretty much means they were coral reefs." Dude. permalinkLunchi 3:54pm ICT Thursday 15 July 2010 (day 14722) Had lunch with Paige and Neir, and were joined by Diana, Mel, and Flo soon after we ordered. Paige and I shared a 4 cheese pizza. I've now had 18 cheeses' worth of four cheese pizzas (or calzones) on this island. permalinkevening 12:28am ICT Friday 16 July 2010 (day 14723) This evening, after an afternoon nap, Neir and I went to see the video Stu put together for us after taking lots of video footage during the day. I bought the DVD before the viewing, and he was like, "this is the only copy so far; let me add some more footage of you and the animals and burn a new one for you." Sweet! The video features a lot of Paige's smiles, which, I quite appreciated. Semi-arguably, Paige's smile is the reason I'm on Koh Phi Phi now. Most amazing on the video was an octopus changing colors to match its surroundings. Wowwww... After that, I went to visit ฤๅ (Pa), who recognized U-Cow at the Viewpoint a couple days ago. We chatted until she got a customer who wanted an oil massage. Then I headed to Seafrog to meet Paige and Neir so we could go to Sports Bar to play the Thursday Trivia game. We got fourth place (of like 8 or 10 teams). The team (the rest of the Seafrog employees) against whom we were primarily competing got 2nd place. Dang. Our answer of Antarctica for "world's largest desert" was counted as wrong. permalink |
