dream helping at uu event

##06:45 Monday 10 December 2012

_Some of the younger kids had been playing in an off limits area, kicked a soccer ball, and knocked out the sound system for a large number of UU churches.  I heard about the story after it was too late to help restore the sound, but was volunteering for something else or something._

dream traveling with lin and my dad

##06:39 Monday 10 December 2012

_Lin and I were traveling with my dad; we were in a hotel with nice view overlooking a neighborhood.  I was looking out at the neighborhood overhearing the neighbors playing in the pool.  Lin was facing the other direction which surprised me because my dad was in the same room, though he was sleeping.   My dad's brother/friend came in and said he was going camping with his friends and we were like, "cool" and then he left._

##22:57 Monday 10 December 2012

She's making some small and big stretches in her life...  This Christmas she's making some gifts for family (instead of just buying stuff).    (that's what I'm calling the small stretch.)

The big thing about which I'm super impressed: she just applied for a new job .... in Thailand!!  Wow!  She's always wanted to travel, and I've always said, "so when are you going to do it???"   I've kept telling her, "no you don't have to have X first," where X for Lin has usually been "money" or ... I guess permission from her [self/family].

She's definitely got permission from me!  I look forward to visiting her in Bangkok, and taking her to see Chiang Mai!

working on front ends back end

##22:50 Monday 10 December 2012

The AB project has classes I created a year ago, at which time were the next iteration of our in-house framework.   Six months ago we created the next iteration, which handles multi-lingual sites a bit more elegantly.

So now the AB project's front end will be using the new classes while the back end is still on the old classes.  But the front end has some classes in the back end so they can make updates to the public facing site.  I wonder how long it's going to be before I say "bah" and upgrade all the classes to the same iteration.   I'd do it now, but I'm not sure how I'd get all the historical data updated to the new style, all while keeping the site humming along.
