I just committed some code to my repo and noticed the first 12 characters of the hash are numeric.  Normally, given that it's a random hexadecimal string, there are some characters in the abcdef family. Screen shot 2012-12-13 at 5.26.21 PM

I imagine if Apple had kept Google's original map app, Google wouldn't have utterly redesigned its new map app, which is beautiful.   Thanks to HN, I found Sacha Greif's nice writeup on Google's map app.
