Entries this day: black-sand-beach-sans-pics breakfast-at-roberts lava-flowed new-man-last-night went-to-warm-pond-at-the-newest-beach-in-the-world black sand beach sans pics Just got back from a clothing optional beach (so no pictures; sorry) but we did get pics at a nearby tree. Apparently the local community maintains this heart Lin and I at the tree permalinkbreakfast at roberts We enjoyed breakfast out on the sunny balcony overlooking Hawaiian greenery. unauthorized pic b.robnugen.com/journal/2019/hawaii/2019_oct_15_babychan_photo.jpg permalinklava flowed After Robert came over to say HI for a bit, Lin and I walked along the road for a a bit. Then went to the lava flow to see the extent of the area that was simply covered by lava. The community has been decimated; many people went back home or otherwise rented or sold the properties that they were on. One example property price went down to one-third its value when it was sold just over a year ago. Still beautiful. permalinknew man last night Tokyo Men's Circle meets every Tuesday. A new man emailed tokyo AT mkpjapan org to see if he can attend tonight. Most definitely, even though I won't be there. So grateful the group is meeting without me and new men are joining. permalinkwent to warm pond at the newest beach in the world (written 06:33 Wednesday 16 October 2019 HST) Yesterday, while Lynn was sleeping, I took this picture of the cat outside our balcony. Later, Lynn asked if it was a wild cat. I said all cats think they are wild. Afterward, Robert took us to the newest beach in the world. Apparently this area used to be ocean, but after the eruption, tons of small lava rocks were washed up into this cove which used to be ocean. Somehow home two small pools were not filled in and they remain as pools. Yay for my underwater phone camera! Robert recognized one of his friends in the same pond and their kids were bit smitten with François. I got François back and pose for a shop on this tree. This picture shows a boat ramp going into this relatively tiny pond. Now why would that be?? I am standing on what used to be ocean! Afterwards, we went shopping and I liked this funny sign that spoke of disaster before. permalinkprev day next day |
