connect and swipe game on godot

Connect and Swipe, which I previously called ConSwi, is a game Tariq and I designed several years ago, as sortof a cross between Tetris and Bejeweled. Like Tetris, pieces come down to be placed by the player. But unlike Tetris, they come down a single tile at a time. Like Bejeweled, we have to swipe consecutive pieces. Unlike Bejeweled, we may have to swipe certain shapes in order to pass levels.

Anyway, I'm licensing the code under the GNU General Public License so people can share the love of games and make it better.

I just wrote to TED-style event speaker coach Soness, to thank her for all the speaking skills she has taught me over the years!

I have been asked to give some students help with their English presentations, and I know just who to ask for help on that. Soness!!

Soness helped me with my Pecha Kucha presentation on Soleful Living, which went awesomely well.

Granted I could have slept in, but another way to look at this is I am getting paid to write a journal entry as zero students have shown up for this lesson. Not surprising, given the recent track record.

Do my lessons not fit their needs? I guess so, but dang if I know what to do. I have tried free conversation, the book, students bring something, games, students manage the lesson, I bring articles, and probably more, but zero students so far today, now 16 minutes into the lesson.

This is the first lesson that I will release when I replace its income. Does that mean I should release it now? By release I mean quit.

I feel a sense of obligation to keep doing this lesson because it's early and annoying and "no one else wants to do it," because one guy started doing the lessons and then quit.

urbit past few days

For a lot of Sunday - Tuesday I was playing with urbit again. I got my planet ~rabsef-linmyn working on a Vultr server. I considered writing up an article on how to do that since they give server credit for such articles. No guarantee of payment, though, so it's a bit of a shot in the dark.

I got dns set up on the server, but Landscape is just showing a black screen and no content. I have not gotten a fix for that yet. I plan to join the Hoon 101 class, so that will be interesting.
