Entries this day: headed-to-jb-for-work pics-coming-soon walked-this-morning headed to jb for work Strangely, I feel unsettled today without having fully written a TODO list in my little todo list book. I started it, but didn't finish it, so today I have been just doing things that I think are reasonable instead of referring back to what younger me suggested I do. A younger me might have just written "I" instead of "younger me." I am intrigued with the concept of time and having two best friends, a past self (younger) that did things for me, and a future self (older) for whom I do things. Seems that one version of younger me slacked on writing a TODO list, so maybe I will do that now. Oh wow; I don't have the book with me now. Dang younger me! It appears that younger me did mail Ma's birthday card as I have a receipt in my wallet that was created at the time of the transaction. Younger me also made some fixes to the Folio Gallery code, allowing me to navigate to subdirectories (but not yet back up). Oh, and he also removed How long do I last in this setup? I was just about to look for links to the Issues to link them above and then a browser tab reminded me that Younger Me was looking at Hey, a new UI for email, by 37 Signals team. It's only been a couple of days, and I sorta kinda can see how I feel relaxed with a cool inbox zero feeling that I was never quite able to achieve with the Read/Unread paradigm. permalinkpics coming soon I have a server (https://b.robnugen.com) dedicated to serving binary content (as opposed to text). Basically pictures (and some PDFs and a couple of MP3s probably). For some years I have been poking at the idea of being able to upload from my phone named images, into specific directories. (I can settle for hardcoding the directory to make it easier to start.) I have recently found MicroPub and beginning to grok that as a possible way to help solve this. I have just found Known which apparently runs on Dreamhost, so I'm going to check it out. 18:55 Saturday 27 June 2020 JSTI abandoned Known pretty quickly when I saw it is its own website. I just want a server that can update my Hugo site. I found skpy/micropub which looks to do what I want, to close approximation, if not exactly. I set up skpy/micropub at http://hugotest.plasticaddy.com/micropub and it is doing some of the right things, but not all of them. One reason may be that the SSL certificate is a temporary self-signed cert. I don't know why Let's Encrypt is taking so long (hours now) to approve the certificate. I guess the new subdomain's DNS entry came through for me but not them?? 22:11 Saturday 27 June 2020 JSTThe correct SSL certificate seemed to help, or maybe it was because I put the correct URL in the config file. hmmm. I have gotten some data files to be sent from Quill and then saved via skpy/micropub as data files. For some reason Indigenous is not sending the authentication token. Weird. Anyway, bedtime now. permalinkwalked this morning (written 14:09 Wednesday 24 June 2020 JST) This morning I walked along another new route. Amazing how many there are, all so close to our house! I walked up the hill and along the ridge toward the right, then after the road split into one-way each way, I went down some stairs into the valley, wound my way around in there, and found myself all the way at the train tracks beyond the train station near our house. Walked away from the tracks and basically back up the other side of the valley and back home. This is the walk during which I stole (?) a piece of rubble from a construction site that could possibly work as a flat surface on which I solder wire marble track tracks. I got home and started to wash and shape it up but it broke (it was already the minimum size that could work) and now I'm like hmmm maybe I won't use it. Pics coming soon? permalinkprev day next day |
